Warning: Okay, I’m going to start this off by stating that this is a touchy subject for a lot of people. Please do not read this if hearing about suicide harms you.
Logan Paul, a well known YouTuber, added a messed up twist to his stupid daily vlog. He and his crew (or whatever they are) went exploring in Japan’s Suicide Forest. They claim that they went because it’s apparently haunted. This made many people doubtful after they watched the vlog. In this video they found a man who had committed suicide. Now, this should be expected when going into a place widely known for a large amount of suicides. The big mistake Logan made was showing a dead man in his video. From what I’ve read in comments on other videos, the face of the man was not even censored. Not only is that extremely disrespectful to the man and his family, but it’s disgusting that he would even think about showing a man hanging from a noose to his 15 million or so subscribers that are mostly children and young teens instead of being respectful and giving a non-graphic description of what he saw later on.
Seeing a body in that condition does not badly affect me because I’m quite fascinated by the human body and the way it decomposes. It just makes me sad and fill with empathy because I’ve experienced feelings very similar to what drove that man to suicide. I also live with someone who picked up a rotting dear leg while on a bike ride and tried to poke me with it. It’s very different for many other kids though. One YouTuber’s video I watched said that he, as an adult, was very disturbed by seeing that body. Just imagine young children seeing something that graphic. I guess what I’m trying to say is that you shouldn’t let your children watch his videos if you find the situation inappropriate. He’s made this mistake once, he may do something just as awful in the future.
